Facilities

Corporate headquarters consists of a 22,000 square-foot facility housing administration, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and support operations. A satellite office maintained in Florida supports our southern markets. Our wholly owned subsidiary Thermal Designs and Manufacturing contributes an additional 27,000 square-foot fabrication facility providing a majority of our custom industrial enclosures.

Company History

The year was 1977and a glorious time to be in business. Jimmy Carter elected as President, Steve Jobs assembling the first Apple Computers in his family garage, Star Wars out in cinemas, The Dow Jones humming along in the 800's and Commerce Controls, Inc. doors are open for business. With 7 employees in a 1000 square foot facility on Freeland Street in Detroit, Michigan, first year sales booked $762,000. Orders for customers including Uniroyal, Park Davis, Stroh's Brewery, Fisher-Body, and AC Spark-Plug. Sadly this year the King "Elvis Presley" died at the age of 42 sending shock waves through the Control Systems Integration Community.

1978: Commerce Controls, Inc. Purchases 7,000 square foot facility and moved operations to Livonia Michigan
1986: Annual Sales Revenues Exceed 6 Million
1987: Built Current headquarters, a 22,000 square foot facility, in Novi, Michigan
1990: Acquisition of Morgan Electric Company leads to Commerce Controls Water & Waste Water Group
1992: Acquisition of Thermal Designs leads to In-house Custom Enclosure fabrication capabilities
1993: Successfully Delivered Large Scale Process Control System in Shanghai, China (Volkswagon)
2001: Established Florida Group and expanded Water & Wastewater market to Southern Region
2003: Successfully delivered 5000th job
2005: Expanded Water & Wastewater market to Ohio
2009: Expanded Water & Wastewater market reach to Western United States
